1. Bullet1/2 cup oatmeal

  2. Bullet1 grated apple

  3. Bullet1/4 cup raisins

  4. Bullet1 dried fig (and/or date)

  5. Bullet1/4 cup chopped almonds (or any other kind of nut that is suitable for your constitution)

  6. Bullet1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

  7. Bullet1/6 teaspoon cardamom

Mix all the ingredients with 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup non fat or soy milk in a saucepan. Simmer on a low heat until it thickens. You can add the chopped almonds just before serving.

This recipe is by my friend and student Meb Inan. I substituted the sour green apples with the sweet ones and instead of adding extra sweetener I preferred using dried fruits instead. Try both and see which one you like!
